Insurance Service Group (ISG)
Tierra provides a complete range of geotechnical engineering services. We provide services to a broad clientele base catering to Federal, State and Local Government entities, private sector corporations, developers, architects and civil engineering firms.
We recently formed the Insurance Service Group to focus on providing quality and timely geotechnical engineering services, specifically ground subsidence evaluations on residential and commercial properties for the insurance industry. We offer both geotechnical testing & evaluations and stabilization monitoring.
Tierra owns a fleet of 10 drilling rigs including 4 track mounted rigs that allows us to access difficult locations and navigate tight spaces. Tierra operates its own CMEC certified and FDOT (I07007) qualified laboratory facility in Tampa, Florida. Our laboratory provides specialized testing services associated with geotechnical engineering and construction materials including physical testing of soil, rock, concrete, aggregate, asphalt and composite building materials.
The Tierra staff dedicated to the Insurance Service Group operations is comprised of five Professional Engineers with a combined sixty eight years of experience, four drillers each with a minimum of fifteen years of experience, two laboratory technicians with over forty five years of combined experience and a full time licensed Florida Property Adjuster with over twenty two years of experience. The entire staff is well versed Florida Statue Title XXXVII, Chapter 627 that governs the required ground subsidence testing and evaluation protocol.
Because of our large drilling fleet, the ability to analyze soil samples in house and our experienced engineering team, Tierra is able to complete ground subsidence assignments within 30 days after the notice to proceed has been approved.
Once the subsidence study has been completed and the recommendations for remediation of the apparent causes of the subsidence have been formulated, Tierra has the capability to provide remediation monitoring services. When the specialty contractor(s) have been selected, Tierra provides experienced personnel to monitor the contractor’s onsite activities to verify quantities, provide documentation of the remediation and to ensure the intent of the specifications are being met. Our remediation monitoring activities may include onsite monitoring of grouting operations, earthwork and/or foundation installations (i.e. underpins).
We are proud of our association with the following organizations:
